Sobre a sessão
Miguel Lino Diogo dos Santos is a mechanical engineer working at CERN in Geneva. He holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering – Design and Production from the University of Coimbra, where he developed an innovative dissertation on a tri-axial constant-force tourbillon clock, deepening the understanding of mechanical chronometry through the double spiral and dynamic modeling. With experience at the ESRF – European Synchrotron and OGMA – Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal, he specializes in the design and optimization of high-precision components, project management, and advanced simulations of complex systems, and is the author of several scientific publications in the field.
This conference will address atomic clocks, instruments that measure time based on the frequency of energy transitions in atoms. Thanks to their stability and accuracy, these clocks are the world reference for defining the second and support crucial applications such as satellite navigation systems, the synchronization of telecommunications networks, and fundamental research in physics. Free admission.
