Meia Lua Callisto Semi Red (PPT & MPT): a Portuguese limited-edition automatic watch
Meia Lua is the brand of Gonçalo Lopes. Gonçalo left a career in banking to devote himself to creating watches on Portuguese soil. The brand was born in 2018 with the launch of the models in the Inception line. Some time later, after a remarkable leap in quality, the Callisto arrived. Today we present one of the models in the Callisto line that appealed to us most: the Semi Red. This is a brand bearing the seals MPT (Brand Registered in Portugal) and PPT (Brand Owned by a Portuguese National).
THE NYMPH CALLISTO AND THE MOON OF JUPITER
Callisto is the name chosen for Meia Lua's most recent line, and the name has several origins. Callisto was an extremely beautiful nymph who made Hera jealous by captivating the attention of her husband, Zeus. In order to put an end to any possibility of Zeus and Callisto growing closer, Hera turned her into a bear. After a number of events, Zeus granted Callisto the privilege of becoming a constellation: Ursa Major, the Great Bear. The name Callisto was also used to christen Jupiter's second-largest moon, the third largest in the solar system. It is one of the moons that might possibly be able to host human life, and it was the inspiration behind the creation of this Meia Lua watch.
FEATURES
THE DIAL:
Brownish red, with metal hour markers, with Swiss Super Luminova.
It has two sub-dials, showing the day of the week on the left and the month on the right. The date can also be read in the window at 6 o'clock.
Sword-style hands, with Swiss Super Luminova (White/Green).
All these details make the watch very elegant and sporty.
THE CASE:
Case in brushed 316L steel with a polished bezel, 42MM in diameter and 13.5MM thick, water-resistant to 10 ATM. The crown bears the logo in relief.
Through the screw-down case back with mineral glass, we can see the Miyota 9122 automatic movement with 26 jewels and 28,800 A/h.
We can also see the elegant rotor, customised with the brand's name.
The Bracelet:
A Jubilee-style steel bracelet, which conveys a modern and elegant look (20/19).
Clasp engraved with the brand's name.
This watch is a limited edition of 30 pieces, which makes it highly desirable.
