Panerai celebrates the Chinese New Year with the launch of the Luminor Perpetual Calendar PAM01688, a limited edition of 100 units.
This model stands out for its combination of a burgundy dial and Panerai Goldtech™, a special material that mixes platinum and copper to create an intense red hue. The choice of reference number 88 reflects Chinese tradition, symbolizing fortune and prosperity.

For the first time, Panerai incorporates Chinese characters on the dial, used for the day and date indicators, while the sapphire caseback displays information such as the month, year and leap year, together with the P.4100 movement. This calibre, developed at the Laboratorio di Idee in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, offers intuitive usability, allowing complete calendar adjustments using only the crown. The watch is functional until 2399, requiring adjustment only at the end of each century.

The PAM01688 features complications such as GMT and a 24-hour dial, harking back to Panerai’s historic models. With a three-day power reserve, the movement is powered by two barrels and an off-centre micro-rotor. The 44 mm case in Panerai Goldtech™ maintains water resistance to 50 metres, while the sandwich dial with Super-LumiNova® ensures excellent legibility.

The main strap is in black crocodile skin with burgundy stitching, complemented by a second strap in black rubber. The set is presented in a wooden box and is available exclusively in the brand’s boutiques.
