Last Saturday, 70 participants attended a conference by Kari Voutilainen on the art of guilloché and Voutilainen watches. The afternoon began with a visit by the speaker and Angélique Singele ( COO Brodbeck Guillochage ) to the Medeiros e Almeida Museum, guided by Master Paulo Anastácio and the Museum Director, Maria Mayer.
In the Fountain Room at the Medeiros e Almeida Museum we witnessed a musical moment starring Pedro de Castro on Portuguese guitar and André Ramos on classical guitar.
The conference lasted an hour and a half, during which Kari Voutilainen presented, in the first part, his watches and, in the second, gave an exposition on the history of guilloche . The audience question and answer session lasted for more than 30 minutes.
This was the first of several RODAs, in which we will invite independent watchmakers to present their watches and share their knowledge about their specialty. For those who missed it, here is the video of the conference and the musical moment.
